Over my many placements, I have been lucky enough to have great continuos support from my mentor teachers and received many encouraging comments and guidance towards my development as a professional educator.
Below I have outlined 4 separate teaching rounds where I have been placed in the past and I have reflected on each as a professional to enhance future learning and development as an educator.
Each have been backed up with a brief comment from my mentor teacher on my time there with them and their class.
Lancaster Preschool

Lancaster Preschool has been my most recent placement in a kindergarten setting. As this was a replacement for a 'not so good' experience at a previous placement, I was nervous in regards to how this would turn out.
I had a positive outlook on this experience and began the time with an open outlook on kindergarten and as a professional educator.
I had such a fantastic experience and was given so many opportunities to take full control and run the room as I would in my own classroom, although still following the already existing routines.
My mentor teacher was very understanding, in regards to my previous experience and both her and the assistant, showed me respect as an educator, a professional and a member of there kindergarten team. I was able to feel confident in the setting and gain constructive feedback from my mentor on future teaching experiences.
Parkridge Primary School

At Parkridge Primary School, I did a two week teaching round block and this was completed in the grade 2 classroom. I really enjoyed this opportunity as I had the chance to work with 2 other teachers who provided me with support and guidance alongside my mentor teacher.
This opportunity at Parkridge was different as the classrooms were open space learning between two of the grade 2 classrooms. I had the opportunity to work with small groups of students and gain knowledge and understanding of the running of the primary years classrooms.
As this was my first primary teaching rounds, I was grateful to be treated with respect and welcoming into the classroom by both mentor teacher, other staff and the children in the classroom.
Jells Park Primary School

Jells Park primary school, I was particularly nervous for this particular teaching rounds as I was placed in the grade 5 classroom.
Having not really any experience with this age group, and feeling not so confident with the age of the students, I was worried that I might not do so well throughout this teaching round.
Although this was my feelings, I took my opportunity and put my teaching practices into action t further develop my own knowledge and skills. I was able to build such wonderful relationships with the students and they continued to show respect from the beginning of my time with them, right to the end.
I was given the chances to begin whole class teaching in my second week into my grade 5 teaching rounds, and I felt especially respected and valued being given this opportunity.

At Doveton primary school, I was placed in the grade prep classroom. I was excited for this teaching rounds, as I had always wanted the opportunity to work with grade preps and to observe the everyday classroom practices that were vital to their learning and development.
This placement was challenging as I was placed in this school which had some challenging young students which I had to professional design some behavioural management plans in which worked for me as a student teacher in this specific classroom.
As a professional teacher I developed strategies that were assigned to each individual student to enhance their learning opportunities and development. I had a fantastic time here, getting to now students and understanding students individual backgrounds and how to incorporate these into the teaching and learning ad classroom management skills.
